In March 2017, the EEN invited Sampson to participate in its Innovate2Succeed scheme, which provides innovation and business development support to SMEs.

In 2016 and 2017, Dr. Becker was a C3E Women in Clean Energy Symposium nominee for an award in the entrepreneurship category (Stanford, MIT, US Department of Energy).

In November 2016, Sampson was selected as one of three winners of the Climate-KIC/Birmingham City Council/Encraft West Midlands Climate Innovation Challenge competition.

In November 2016, Innovate UK awarded Sampson a Global Feasibility Study grant.

In June 2016, Sampson was selected to participate in the 2016 Climate-KIC Low Carbon Accelerator Programme in the UK.

In November, 2016, Sampson was one of three winners of the West Midlands Climate Innovation Challenge, jointly sponsored by Climate-KIC, Birmingham City Council and Encraft. The award came with a £20,000 prize and the opportunity to work with Encraft and Skanska in Birmingham and the West Midlands.

In November, 2016, Sampson won an Innovate UK 'Global Cooperation Feasibility Study' grant award. The aim of this competition was to support innovative UK small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to carry out short international cooperation feasibility studies to build new international business networks. Innovate UK is looking to increase the international engagement of innovative UK SMEs, and the competition focused on supporting companies that have strong innovative ideas.
